Comprised of a sterile background, exaggerated lighting, and wearable and nonwearable sculpture, Asphyxia was conceptualized to document Cen's newest work.
The model stands as a conduit for a state of spiritual psychosis and devotion:
"the protagonist is in the process of ritual. The viewer can witness the protagonist falling deeper into a spiritual psychosis through a serene trance-like state. The climax of the ritual/psychosis will be the protagonist trying to consume (align, become one) ancient religious artifacts."
Asphyxia documents the genesis of Cen's "Skin Series" [ draped lambskin skirt with 15" braids using their hair] as well as their "Body Tablets" [ steel, resin, and their hair]. Projects addressing depersonalization and seeing the body as source material.
The project also explores the concept of "moving with mercury," highlighting Cen's fascination with catalytic energy for change and transformation.
